Uniting for a Paw-sitive Cause: A Heartfelt Fundraiser for Maui Humane Society

In the aftermath of the devastating events in Maui, our team at Wag Hotels felt an immediate call to action. With heavy hearts, we witnessed the impact of the tragedy and the countless reports of beloved pets that were now missing or injured. As a company devoted to the welfare of pets, we knew we had a unique opportunity to make a difference. And so, we set out on a mission to support the Maui Humane Society and their selfless efforts to rescue and reunite pets affected by the wildfires.

On Friday, August 18, we asked our pet parents to show up to show their support for the people of Maui – and they/you did not let us down! For every dog that attended Daycare on the 18th, we donated $10 to the Maui Humane Society. The response was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Our furry friends came in droves, and the collective efforts resulted in a staggering total of $8,690 in donations from Daycare proceeds alone. Fueled by the overwhelming support and determination of our community, we wanted to do even more. With an additional donation of over $1,500, we brought the final donation sum to an impressive $10,000.

This initiative holds special significance for us, as expressed by Kristen Rau, who oversees care at Wag Hotels. Kristen said, “We believe in the power of unity and strength of community. By directing a portion of our Daycare revenues to Maui Humane Society, we are honored to provide support and assistance to those who need it most. Pets bring so much joy and comfort to our lives; we wanted to extend that love to the broader community as well.”

Kristen’s words echo Wag Hotels’ deep-seated belief that pets are not just animals; they are cherished family members deserving of love, care, and support.

This fundraiser is a reflection of our long-standing commitment to animals in need. Since we first opened our doors 18 years ago, we’ve always strived to be a beacon of hope for those who rely on us for care. From sheltering hundreds of pets during wildfires to extending discounts to our brave firefighters, police officers, and EMTs, we are proud to play a part in supporting our community.
